Cyclone review

Hi everyone sorry I have not been home to do any more creating as I have spent this last week helping family clean up after Cyclone Marcia in Yeppoon, not a lot of damage was done to my mums house even though she lives right on the beach front high winds driving rain I think she was very lucky. As for Tracy and Michael they only lost power and water for a few days. So we did a mercy trip with fresh water, petrol and a generator. Yeppoon was totalled so many houses lost their roofs. But mainly power outages and no water. My Aunty and Uncle thought they lost thier roof but it was from next door, but there yard to a total mess. It is sad to see the little town I grew up in totally smashed. But with lots and lots of volunteers helping out it will slowly get back on its feet. I have my mum living here with me at the moment as she has no power as off yet but hopefully by the end of the week.

A card for a friend

Image
I was asked by a friend of mine last weekend would I make her a special card to give to her daughter on her wedding day. And I was given the colour scheme orange, silver and cream and I thought Orange a colour I really do not favour. But I think it turned out really nice I didn't want the orange to over power the card so this is what I have done. This is the front I have used cream cardstock, silver and cream vellum and orange stardream paper. A lot of Prima flowers and some bling swirls of course.  Sorry the photos are a bit dark as we are having heaps of rain here from a cyclone coming down our coastline.

Blog Hop Challenge

Pizza box you say and yes it is a new one. 6 1/2 x 6 1/2 inches square and decorated using a Kaisercraft book. Handmade flowers using Tatered flowers die and some glitter paper. So so easy to do just stick all together. I have decorated the inside as well.   The hardest part was deciding what to put where. This is a great present just on its own.  Firstly I purchased a 6 1/2 x 6 1/2 KAiser craft paper pad as I said deciding on what to use is the hardest but for this one it was for Christmas so it was easy. I bought a new pizza box from my local Scrapbooking Shop and inked all the edges with a brown pine cone ink. The paper pad fits exactly onto the pizza box no trimming. The sides where cut to 1 1/4 inches so you get the four sides out of a piece of paper. So all you have to do is ink the edges. I used double sized tape to stick the paper onto the out side and also the inner. But make sure you put the tape on as close to the edges as you can. Cover the outside before then...

A gift for my Mum

Image
My mum is so hard to buy for so I thought what can I give her. I know she is always looking for a calender so I decided to make her one. I  had a 6 1/2 x 6 1/2 pizza box in my stash, covered it with a  Kaisercraft paper range, hessian, flowers from out of my stash. I also made a  6x6 inch ring album also covering with the same kaiser range and adding the collectables from the same range.
