Prima August BAP - "ME"

For this sketch challenge also from http://prima.typepad.com/ I have turned the sketch sideways

I was only 12 years of age in this photo all dressed up for my end of year 7 fancy dress ball held at Yeppoon Town Hall.

I have used Prima Leeza Gibbons collection wishes and dreams again, the optimist and hope blooms. Assorted prima flowers and embellies. A hand crocheted doily, white ink and I splattered with some white spray.

Here is the sketch

Prima Product Pick - You are my dream come true

This was a great challenge just loved using the colours it comes from http://prima.typepad.com/   Tracy and I were driving around Gladstone where we lived and went up to Auckland Hill for a look. The background is overlooking the Gladstone Harbour.  It was a beautiful sunny day and I just enjoyed my time with my daughter. Here is my take on the colour scheme.

Here I have used Prima Leeza Gibbons Wishes and Dreams Collection - Invincible and sweet dreams
I have also used assorted Prima flowers and embellies. Black cardstock and shimmerz mist - 24 karat and sea foam. I have a tag behind the photo with my journaling on.

August Once Upon A Sketch -" I will never forget"

Once again I scrapbooked at Alicia's house last Sunday and going through her old stuff I found this paper it was bright and cheerful just like my Grandma. This sketch comes from http://onceuponasketchblog.blogspot.com.au/ and we also had to use the wording "I will never forget" so here goes.....

Here is the sketch

Not sure where the paper comes from but just loved the colours and being so bright and cheerful just like Grandma. The verse says
I will never forget you Grandma,
your wise words and love will stay with me forever.

Card Colour Challenge - August 2013

I'm back with another Card Colour Challenge and based on my card above.  All you have to do is create a card using Red and Green - that is not Christmas themed, upload it somewhere and link it's location into the Inlinkz thingy at the bottom of this post by midnight on 31 August and you could win one of the two fab ribbon packs (pictured below) donated by Scrapbook Fantasies, one for a random winner and one for a winner of my choice - each valued at over $10, plus FREE International postage.

Scrapbook Fantasies have also provided a folder on their Gallery where you can upload your creation if you don't have a blog of your own - here.

Flying Unicorn Challenges

I decided to do some of the challenges from http://flyingunicornforums.com/forum.html
I enjoyed doing these they took me out of my little box and did some different things that I would normally not do.

This challenge "Mojo Monday"

This one you had to make a tag out of one piece of paper I added texture paste and a little bit of spray and a word stamp to the background and a verse as well.

This one was a Mojo Monday a sketch challenge they have every week

This is another Mojo Monday sketch
Cut it out
I had to fussy cut my photo

We are the future
A photo of a child/young/older graduating, masking, fussy cutting and a chippy

Lets get crackin
make a crackle affect on your layout, butterfly, flowers and at least 2 layers of patterned paper

As I said before I enjoyed doing these ripping, tearing, using masks and pastes of different kinds

2013 Scrapbook Retreat

Once again we left on Thursday 1st August for our yearly scrapbook retreat at Coolwaters  Holiday Village in Yeppoon. We left the shop in a convoy, the truck full to the brim with the shop and a number of cars and a ute towing a caravan (which was me) where I met up with Jo already scrapping to her hearts content as she had been there all week lucky devil..... We all unloaded and set up the shop and the scrapping room, with the stragglers coming in to set themselves up at their seats. We scrapped all day Friday, Saturday and till 4pm Sunday and late into the night and early morning for some. Then it was time to pack up and head home. What a terrific time we had, lovely company, food was great and not much sleep but a lot of fun.

These are a few things I created while I was there. Also did a class with Alicia on Saturday.
Here are a couple of bird cages I decorated. First one I put a photo of Laurie and I in it and heaps and heaps of flowers all are Prima flowers out of my flower box.

 A few close ups....

Now the next one...

Look Annabelle is in a cage looking at that birdie

All prima flowers as well with netting one the bottom of the cage inked with some glimmermist I think it was chocolate something, brown anyway.
This is a reverse canvas that I still haven't finished but it will have the retreat photo in it when I unpack all my stuff.
Golden crackle paint and heaps of glimmermist and Kaiser beach paper in the middle still a work in progress.

A close up of the crackle

Now my class pages from Alicias class

1st one not exactly the same as I was serving customers while the class was on. So I put my own twist on it. This photo was taken while we where at the Hall of Fame dinner in Wagga in May this year.
My second ended up being a double page as I was lucky enough to get 2 pieces of bazzil in my kit. I added texture paste and spray to the background sort of like Alicias page but not. These photos are of Tracy my daughter going sky diving on her 30th birthday 2012 in Darwin.

And my last page we had to make a page / card from our goodie bag only using what is in our bag.
