2013 Scrapbook Retreat

Once again we left on Thursday 1st August for our yearly scrapbook retreat at Coolwaters  Holiday Village in Yeppoon. We left the shop in a convoy, the truck full to the brim with the shop and a number of cars and a ute towing a caravan (which was me) where I met up with Jo already scrapping to her hearts content as she had been there all week lucky devil..... We all unloaded and set up the shop and the scrapping room, with the stragglers coming in to set themselves up at their seats. We scrapped all day Friday, Saturday and till 4pm Sunday and late into the night and early morning for some. Then it was time to pack up and head home. What a terrific time we had, lovely company, food was great and not much sleep but a lot of fun.

These are a few things I created while I was there. Also did a class with Alicia on Saturday.
Here are a couple of bird cages I decorated. First one I put a photo of Laurie and I in it and heaps and heaps of flowers all are Prima flowers out of my flower box.

All prima flowers as well with netting one the bottom of the cage inked with some glimmermist I think it was chocolate something, brown anyway.
This is a reverse canvas that I still haven't finished but it will have the retreat photo in it when I unpack all my stuff.

Now my class pages from Alicias class
 
 1st one not exactly the same as I was serving customers while the class was on. So I put my own twist on it. This photo was taken while we where at the Hall of Fame dinner in Wagga in May this year.
My second ended up being a double page as I was lucky enough to get 2 pieces of bazzil in my kit. I added texture paste and spray to the background sort of like Alicias page but not. These photos are of Tracy my daughter going sky diving on her 30th birthday 2012 in Darwin.

 
And my last page we had to make a page / card from our goodie bag only using what is in our bag.

Mixed Media Altered Frame - Off the Rails DT

Hello Candy here again. I thought I would do an Off the page project for you all today. I bought this frame a while ago and had it in my stash. Firstly I painted the frame with black gesso and when it is dry cover with some Golden fiber paste on the sides and front of the frame, and the heart. I have used some chipboard pieces from one of our sponsors Memory Maze and painted them with white gesso. I roughly daubed with some liquid pearls, the rougher the better as we want some texture. Dry with a heat gun holding close as you want it to bubble. I then used Lindy's - Blue Hawiian blue, Glimmermist afraid of the dark and sei tumble dry green sprays. I used a small paint brush and daubed here and there. Dry between the colours or you will make mud.  On the heart I sprayed the Lindy's blue hawiian spray and when dry covered with glue and apply some midnight blue glass glitter. I also sprayed the colours around the inside and outside of the frame

New Baby

Hi everyone today I have completed yet another Inspiration board from  Dusty Attic  this was a fun one, with my adopted sister becoming a Grandma for the first time. So excited for her. So this canvas will be a present I know she will like it.  Products I have used Dusty Attic lacey heart frames and de vine frame set 12x12 inch canvas Kaisercraft star mask Shimmerz Texturez Patrina paste, truffle, baby's breath sprays Lindy's cap cod coral, chateau rose and sandra dee sepia sprays Glimmermist french vanilla, kraft, garden party and sea grass sprays Prima chalk inks pastel blue, pastel brown and pastel peach deminsional magic and green tara flowers And here is the Inspiration Board

Hi everyone I am back from a little break and ready to ctreate again. Today I have made a lovely little girls card. Using a fancy scroll and a word phrase. I have started with a 5 1/4 x 5 1/4 inch card base. I cut the first pattern paper layer at 51/4x51/4 inches. The second is cut from white glitter paper  and it is cut at 5 x 5 inches. The third is using another pattern paper and cut that one at  4 3/4 x 4 3/4 inches Distress around the edges of all three then tape the first two onto the card base. The third pattern paper curl the right top corner use a little glue to hold this in place. Then tape onto the card using foam tape. I have matted my photo and put foam tape underneath to raise it up. Now for the corner swirl and the word phrase all I did was give them a couple of coats of white ink.  When dry glue onto your card. Add a little piece of lace under the corner roll and then add some flowers to finish off. Mmeory Maze product
